Judi passionately believes in the importance of painting landscapes 'on-site' and this is borne out in the freshness, effect of light and spontaneity in her work.

"I love the quiet light conditions just after a downpour-colours are soft and subdued and light is reflected from the wet streets. The atmosphere is damp and still and gives the watercolourist a wonderful opportunity to concentrate on achieving the 'feeling' of the day."

Judi has been teaching her colourful and fresh approach to watercolour for many years. She is a regular contributor to The Artist magazine and teaches all over the country as well as at her home in the Cotswolds. She is also author of “Loosen up Your Watercolours” a beautifully illustrated book, in Collins Artist’s Studio series, which is aimed at the intermediate painter and explains how to loosen up your watercolours and develop a more spontaneous style of painting.
