Judy trained as a textile designer, obtaining a B.A. in Textile Design at Leeds University. After a long and successful career as a leading expert and dealer in Antique Portrait Miniatures she now uses her love of colour and light in her art works.

Judy is a member of ‘The Fossway Artists', 'The Stow Art Group', 'The West Oxfordshire Arts', and the 'North Cotswolds Art Group'. She exhibits with them as well as at Batsford Arboretum visitors centre and holds an annual exhibition in her own studio at Bourton on the Water.

“My inspiration comes from the beauty of our British country-side. I paint scenes of my native Yorkshire and my home of 20 years, the Cotswolds. Colour is the most important factor in my work, which derives from my work as a designer. Light and textures are also vital in my work and though I adore watercolour effects I tend to lean towards the stronger colour palette. I like my paintings to have a fresh lively quality, reflecting my excitement in the subject.”
